The Power of Darkness@@@

Can you stop being so presumptuous? Though, it does at times make you seem sumptuous, removing those elements of mumptuous and frumptuousness that you possess.

Mmmmm... today my mom accused me of making sexual innuendoes towards her//

I read a bunch of priest guides today which convince me that after about 38 levels of sinful shadow spell casting, I shall repent and become a priest of holiness and unbending discipline. Inner Focus, Mind Flay, and Shadow Weaving are must haves, and I'll be using the SW:Pain talent after all, with 1 point to shadow focus...

I think that the combination of herblore, alchemy, and cooking should be a decent addition to the team, with a decent amount of +stats.. I have lots of bags now, which makes organisation a lot easier, but levelling is still a problem due to time constraints...

With regards to the problem of killing warlocks, I think I have a decent strategy in mind. Shadow word pain, Mind Blast, resist the first fear, then run far far away while renewing, haha... will rematch at about lvl 14 when I get Psychic Scream... Should I start putting points into Unbreakable Will early? haha..

This so-called game is practically another world completely, and it comes along with books of player made calculations for spell damage and items and etc... Scary...

Time

Accidentally. Accidently. Hmmm. Didn't know accidently was an actual word...

You have been impregnated with many misconceptions.

Marjoram ditches Auel, and continues the journey with two of his childhood friends, blood elves by the names of Mirrisken and Aueralis. But many things have changed in the two years that they left each other's company. Mirrisken is now a holy warrior of the light, a paladin who strives to right injustices and comfort the downtrodden. Aueralis, as seductive and beautiful as ever, chose instead to follow the paths of darkness as a warlock, reveling in the pain and destruction caused by her spells of shadow and flame. Marjoram's priestly soul is torn in two, one parting turning towards the light and another part yearning for the shadows.

He mulls over these thoughts while cooking low quality food over a campfire and mixing delicate spell components to make potions. Suddenly, Aueralis casts a bolt of shadow energy at him. Marjoram is completely caught offguard as he mind becomes numb with fear and anxiety. He runs around flailing his arms as his skin melts from the flames of the warlock's dark magics. Falling to his knees, he feels the warmth of the holy light upon his face. It is Mirrisken who extends his arm towards Marjoram. He helps Marjoram to his feet, but in the next moment, shoves him to the ground and draws his weapon to pummel him.

The two people he called friends attack him ceaselessly for the rest of the night. Then they apologise the next morning, saying they were drunk. Marjoram swears to himself in secret that he will one day repay them for the mindless humiliation. Someday soon....

Obvious mistakes and quiet cover-ups

And so on January the 14th, on the stroke of midnight, Marjoram, the soon to be greatest undead priest walking the line between light and darkness, is born. His journey begins with his first companion, a warlock filled with a deep-seated hatred for the world and a penchant for acts of unspeakable evil. The darkness in Marjoram's soul is instinctively attracted to this character and soon he even begins to use the power of holiness to bring death to innocent land critters alongside the dark magics of the Warlock, Auel. By the end of the day, thousands of land critters and scarlet crusaders have fallen to the might of their cruel magic.

So there's my light hearted opening to the blog entry.

Hmmm... You should stop typecasting yourself as the villain of that time, or I'll feel forced to write about all the times when I was being terrible. ( The day I was being oversensitive and forgot your hearing problem, the day I was insensitive and pretended I couldn't hear what you were saying, the days I took Mel's side over yours without question, the days I didn't shave...)

Haha. But I don't think that the time thing's ever going to be an issue. I spent two straight years with a person I thought I could be good friends with, and that friendship stagnated to the point of disappearing completely. Somewhat my fault that was, maybe like... half mine. Anyways, I'm glad we could meet again at a time when we both are more clear about what we want from each other and our ownselves. I'm glad that we're friends again at a time that you are willing enough to respect the way i feel, and that you trust me enough to speak to me sincerely. I sometimes worry that I don't reciprocate...haha.

Haha... But you underestimate the common interest plan too easily! It has been very, very well thought out... Yeessss....

Feeling Pensive

I've been having a lot of negative dreams lately. One involved me hearing news of a friendish fellow dying during a surgery. I had one about my dad and him telling me something I'd not want to hear, though a part of me expects it very much. I had one where I found myself sent into the past to a part of my life which i regretted somewhat, and the first thing I thought to myself during the dream was: 'If this was not a dream, then imagine the possibilities'. However, I found myself unable to do anything but fail during that time.

In the old days, I imagine that when parents found their child had some excess or oddity of behaviour, they would do one of two things.

1) Cope adaptively and try to curb their behaviour through trial and error.
2) Beat the shit out of them until they stopped.

Today, I think we have named many of these behaviours which we perceive to be damaging or radically different from the norm. They have specific symptoms or specific roots genetically or environmentally. Scientists and doctors reacted to the specific symptoms with specific treatments.

Compared to 20 years ago, the option of beating odd behaviour out of kids is now considered barbaric, shallow, ineffective, and a method of convenience. Perhaps this is all very rightly said. With the disappearance of method 2), there is now method 3).

3) Apply tranquilizers for hyperactivity. Consume pills to restore bodily chemical imbalances.

As much as I can see, the world today places great value on precision, focused efforts, efficiency, and the triumph of knowledge over ignorance. We're finding more and more answers to the old problems and it must be admitted that in some ways, these treatments are much more convenient when compared to facing the task of disciplining a hyperactive child 55 times a day, though I dare not assert that parents choose these solutions based on how convenient it would be to them.

I guess I can't say anything concrete about the matter because:

1) I am not a parent.
2) I know very few details about complex medical treatments and procedures, nor about their effects on the patient.

I think at this point I've written a lot of something that has very little actual meaning or substance. I guess it's just to express a vague feeling of being startled at the collective confidence we are gaining in scientific answers to age old behavioral or medical problems. And then I feel stupid for having such a viewpoint because I've never had any serious medical problems to contend with. Would I really choose faith in God and everyday perseverance and regulation when presented with the second option of a surgery or pill that HAS visible and predictable effects?

I think that the 'Pillow Angel' story is incredibly interesting. There are a lot of issues to consider and every sort of person imaginable has come forth to offer their opinions about it due to it's controversial nature and unprecedented contents. My initial feeling was one of distaste, but after reading more, I feel mixed. To sum it up:

I first disliked the idea of this Ashley's parents calling her a 'Pillow Angel'. I thought it symbolized their arrogance for their being unperturbed by the choice that they had made. Then I imagined for a moment that I was a parent who was unable to nickname my child 'Sunshine', for she would not smile or play for hours outdoors. I could not call her 'Mumblemuffin' because the sound of the word wouldn't make her giggle. Perhaps it is not so bad.

On a shorter note, I joined a church camp planning group today. Really felt... a lot of things during that short session. I guess I could learn a great many things from going into this thing that is so very much out of my comfort zone, although there is really too much I don't understand. I feel like a fish out of water there, and my ego acts up constantly.

With God, friendships, or hardships... I wonder if i will ever be able to close my eyes and walk.

Hot Pizza

Nameless waiter comes to serve North Customer his Vegetarian Pizza, still hot and steaming from the oven. Nameless waiter walks away but is called to the table 5 minutes later.

Waiter: Good evening sir, how may I help you?

Customer: Look at this pizza. The cheese is runny.

Waiter: Yes sir, it's... a hot pizza. The cheese would be melted.

Customer: The cheese is runny! It is not set! I have come to Pizza Hut many times and this is not what they give me. This is not pizza hut standard!

Waiter: Ok sir, would you like me to call my manager over..

Customer: So what are you going to do about it?

Waiter: What would you like to do about it, after all you are the experienced customer..

Customer: You cannot talk to me like that!! You cannot!

Waiter: No sir, forgive me for the misunderstanding, I merely meant to enquire if you have had such experiences before, and if so how did the other outlets recompense?

Customer: Nevermind, let me talk to your manager...

And so 10 mins later, Nameless Waiter brings a fresh, well-set Vegetarian Pizza to North Customer and his mother, and takes away the pan containing the inferior pizza of which only half remains...
