May this be a turn for the better...

I've expressed some of my frustrations to my dad.

I just remembered. I was doing my accounting tutorial in the library when it came to me that, a few months back, I had a dream that I was doing accounting of some sort.

Freaky. Haha.

I can't hear a word this song is saying

Today I went to play basketball at the community club opposite Ginza plaza. I'd been feeling pretty ill because I'd skipped all my exercise for the past two weeks, so it felt pretty good to start moving about again.

On the way back from the Community Club, there is a small garden area designed by polytechnic horticulture students which I really enjoy walking by. Its a really beautiful and eye-catching spot and the area around it is always very peaceful.

I walked past it today and somebody called out to me. It was my cousin, Jonathan. He studies horticulture at one of the polytechnics, and in previous conversations I had vaguely mentioned this place to him... As it turns out, he was one of the two people who had designed the place! Haha. I really felt impressed, especially since he's the only cousin I can really stand.

On the bus back, I caught snippets of a conversation that the adjacent passengers were having. They were discussing books that they liked, and it was plain to see that they really had an incredible passion for reading! ... It made me feel envious to see these people discussing and doing these things that they liked so much. It made me feel like a real mess. Ha ha. Though, I do have something that I really want to do, too.

Today I felt impressed by one man's honesty, and subdued by another's dishonesty. Then again, I'm always unhappy with other people than myself. Haha.

... I wish I weren't afraid that the way I feel might scare people away. I wish I could be like those idiots who just say whatever they feel, regardless of whether their words will hurt others or themselves... I wish I were like them, inexplicably unafraid of the way they feel...

GAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

Quotes from Gamespot reviewers

"However, this is not to say that there isn't any real depth to the game, as there's actually a surprising amount of strategy that can go into matches, the least of which is knowing when, where, and how to most effectively attack."

"Because of its absurdly simple control scheme, which features only two attack buttons, Brawl is by far one of the most accessible fighting games available on the market."

-Gamespot reviewer's 9.5/10 review of Super Smash Bros. Brawl

Does it not smell... fishy?

Another reviewer used the word 'exuberant' as an adjective to 'brutality'... ... Exuberant brutality. How creative of him.

Hmm. There is a button that allows me to color my words. Brilliant.

Simply Fabulous!

Haha... Some of my friends will always make me feel conflicted by their actions. Should I be extremely in awe of them or extremely embarrassed to be associated with them? What utterly FABULOUS gestures I see them make at times...

Loathe as I am to admit it, the challenge of a single, compressed module is starting to gain on me. I'm not even sure as to whether I should make it an ungraded module. Its really hard for me to gauge my ability to score well in the examination, as this is my first ever module. The lessons are interesting enough, though there's often too much material to cover and we end up staying late for classes. It seems as if I've got a pretty reliable companion in Alex though, so that is quite a comfort.

There are a couple of significant things in my life that I feel must be changed now, such as my attitude towards my parents (esp. my father) and the matter of being able to pray publicly... Hmmm. Wish me luck.

Not 'where am I headed?', but 'where can I go?'

At some point I'd fooled myself into thinking that if you want to be friends with somebody, you have to be proactive, wear your heart on your sleeve, drop your guard and be open about how you feel... Somehow I've really been jumping the gun because that's really how you take the step from a normal friendship into a deeper one, not how you make friends at the onset. Potential friends would be able to make you drop your guard without you thinking about it, right?

This should have been clear to me, but I guess my initial anxieties in cell group and my fears about what was expected of me really clouded my thinking. It makes me feel silly just thinking about it.

The first day of school was passable. I feel indignant about having to get a hold of that massive textbook, though. I met Alex the Cook from Shift 2 in my class, and it's good to have a familiar, equally noob face around. There was another Returning NSman seated next to me, and his name is Moey Jun Xin! I've finally found another Moey clan member! My NTU account is MOEY0002, and his is MOEY 0003. I commented that I wondered who the bastard was who took MOEY0001, and he replied that it was his older sister! Hahahahahahahhaha....
